Sidi Abdullah al-Marbuqi

One of our resident translators and contributors is Abdullah Al-Marbuqi. His name is Abdullah Muhammad al-Marbuqi, Muhammad Zul Khair ibn Muhammad Hasbi. He was born in 1979, in Merbok, Kedah, Malaysia. He has studied fundamentals of Shafi’i fiqh in his homeland of Malaysia with local scholars.

After graduating from University of Malaya, Malaysia with a degree in Design and Manufacturing Engineering, he pursued his learning of Arabic, Fiqh and Hadith studies in Madrasah In’aamiyyah, Camperdown, South Africa, where he completed his studies.

He was granted the honour of studying under scholars like Mufti Ibrahim Desai, Maulana Taha Karan – who also contributes to Shafiifiqh.com, Mufti Imran Vawda and Maulana Muhammad ibn Haroon ‘Abasoomar.

He has translated Safinat Al-Naja’ and authored many research articles for Shafiifiqh.com. May Allah  accept him and enable him to benefit the ummah of Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
